Dr. Thomas Burnett, MD

Dr. Thomas Burnett, MD is a board-certified physiatrist specializing in sports and regenerative medicine. He has performed over 4,000 successful regenerative procedures and is widely recognized as a leading expert in joint and tendon pain across Pittsburgh.

After graduating cum laude from the University of Dayton, Dr. Burnett earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, supported by the U.S. Air Force Health Professions Scholarship. He served as a flight surgeon for the 178th Fighter Wing and 445th Airlift Wing and was awarded the Commendation Medal for his service during deployment to Afghanistan in 2010.

Following his honorable discharge, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UPMC, where he focused on non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.

As Founder of Regeneration Pittsburgh, Dr. Burnett is dedicated to redefining how pain is treated and helping patients—from everyday individuals to elite athletes—optimize performance and recovery. He also serves on the Board of Directors for It’s About The Warrior Foundation, supporting post-9/11 veterans and their families.
