THE FLOe METHOD

When the body can flow, life can expand.

The FLOe Method is a physician-led, connected approach to understanding your physiology and strengthening your capacity to move, adapt, recover, and participate more fully in life.

What we Believe

Your body has an inherent capacity to adapt, repair, and renew.

Those capacities depend on movement, exchange, and communication. Blood and lymph circulate. Oxygen and nutrients are delivered. Hormones, nerve signals, and immune information coordinate. Cell membranes regulate entry, and mitochondria transform fuel into energy. Waste is processed and cleared. Breath changes pressure, while fascia and muscle transmit force. When these systems communicate and exchange well, your capacity to adapt and recover grows.

Flow is movement, exchange, and communication.

How It Usually Starts

Most people do not lose capacity all at once.

Most people do not lose capacity all at once.

When repeated demands exceed available reserve, the body compensates. It protects, reroutes, and finds ways to keep you functioning. Compensation is intelligent—and it can be expensive. Over time, ordinary demands may require more effort, recovery may take longer, and reserve can narrow before disease becomes obvious. You may notice it in different ways:

Recovery takes longer.Sleep becomes less restorative.Energy becomes less reliable.Exercise feels harder than it used to.Body composition or metabolic markers begin to shift.Stiffness lingers.

Capacity can narrow quietly. Rebuilding it begins by seeing the pattern.

The questions we work on are: What is limiting capacity? What remains adaptable? What can we measure? And where is the most useful place to begin?

FLOe brings those findings into one connected view and follows how capacity changes over time.

THE FLOe CONTINUUM

Flowcreatescapacity.Capacitycreatesvitality.Vitalityexpandspossibility.

Vitality is the felt experience of available capacity—the energy and reserve to participate. Possibility gives you a reason to spend it.

Everything in the FLOe Method sits along this continuum, asking where flow is limited, where capacity has narrowed, and where the most useful place to begin is.

Vitality is the aim.

Longevity is the side effect.

The seven systems of vital flow

Your body does not work in separate parts. It functions through movement, exchange, and communication.

The seven systems give us a common language for understanding those relationships.

Systems 2 through 6 trace a useful physiologic sequence: receiving nourishment, delivering oxygen and nutrients, regulating cellular entry, producing energy, and clearing waste. Systems 1 and 7 coordinate and support the entire process.

Reading the pattern across all seven helps us understand what may be limiting capacity—not only where a symptom happens to appear.

COMMAND · TIMING · ADAPTABILITY

Can your body tell safe from threatened?

Your nervous system and hormones are the body's conductor. They decide when to mobilize and when to repair, when to digest, when to sleep, when to build tissue and when to conserve.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Wired but tired, restless sleep, slow recovery, low libido, feeling on edge with nothing to point at.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

Cortisol rhythm, thyroid markers, DHEA-S, sex hormones, SHBG, IGF-1.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep efficiency and timing, recovery trends from your wearable.

INTAKE · TOLERANCE · DEFENSE

Is food arriving as nourishment or as threat?

Where the outside world meets the inside one. Your gut lining, skin, microbiome, and immune system decide what gets absorbed and what gets defended against. This is not only digestion. It is discernment. When that judgment drifts, the body starts defending against things it used to handle without effort.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Bloating, reflux, irregular digestion, new food reactions, skin changes, catching everything that goes around.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

CBC with differential, inflammatory markers, gut barrier analysis, secretory IgA, microbiome testing, food sensitivity testing, nutrient patterns.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Body composition, hydration, bowel patterns, skin findings, recovery response.

DELIVERY · RESERVE · DISTRIBUTION

Can oxygen and fuel reach the tissue?

Having the right nutrients, hormones, and oxygen is not enough. They have to arrive. Lungs, red cells, heart, vessels, vascular tone, and microcirculation carry them out to the tissue and start carrying waste back. This is also your reserve, the margin you draw on when life asks for more than usual.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Heaviness, breathless on stairs, cold hands and feet, endurance that has quietly dropped, long recovery after effort.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

Hemoglobin and hematocrit, ferritin and iron studies, ApoB, Lp(a), fibrinogen, hs-CRP.

WHAT WE MEASURE

VO2 max, heart rate recovery, resting heart rate, blood pressure, exertional oxygen saturation. Advanced assessment may include, coronary calcium scoring, carotid ultrasound, echocardiography, or pulmonary function testing when warranted.

PERMISSION · SENSING · METABOLIC FLEXIBILITY

Can your cells take the fuel in?

Arrival is not entry. The cell still has to open the gate. Insulin sensitivity, glucose regulation, and membrane health decide whether fuel actually crosses, and whether you can switch cleanly between burning glucose and burning fat. Fuel in the bloodstream with no access at the cell feels exactly like not having enough.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Sleepy after meals, afternoon crash, cravings, weight that will not move, energy that depends entirely on when you last ate.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

Fasting glucose and insulin, HOMA-IR, HbA1c, triglycerides, HDL, triglyceride to HDL ratio, homocysteine, glycation markers.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Labs may include fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, HbA1c, triglycerides, HDL, TG/HDL ratio, homocysteine, glycation markers, and advanced metabolic markers when appropriate.

ENERGY · REDOX · EFFICIENCY

Can you make energy cleanly?

Once fuel is inside the cell, your mitochondria convert it by moving electrons down a chain. That electron flow is the small e in FLOe. Vitamins and minerals are the cofactors that make it work. Inflammation and oxidative stress draw on the same budget, which is why you can eat well, sleep well, and still run empty.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Depleted rather than sleepy, brain fog, muscle weakness, poor exercise tolerance, slow recovery when everything else is in order.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

Vitamin D, B12, folate, B6, RBC magnesium, CoQ10, uric acid, hs-CRP, oxidative stress markers.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Phase angle, VO2 max, heart rate variability, strength, fatigue response, body composition.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Puffiness, swelling, morning stiffness, headaches, sensitivity to alcohol or chemicals, staying sore for days after effort.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

CMP, AST, ALT, GGT, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin, albumin, cystatin C, eGFR, urinalysis.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Fluid distribution, hydration, edema, body composition, lymphatic assessment, recovery response.

STRUCTURE · SUPPORT · COMMUNICATION

Can force move through you?

Fascia, muscle, tendon, ligament, cartilage, bone, joints. Structure is not only the frame. Fascia wraps, connects, hydrates, senses, and transmits force through your whole body, and blood vessels, lymphatics, nerves, and immune cells all travel through it. Lose flow here and the body loses mechanical communication, which is why a restriction in one place so often shows up somewhere else.

YOU MIGHT NOTICE

Stiffness, restricted motion, poor balance, the same injury returning, a body that feels older than you are.

WHAT THE LABS SHOW

Inflammatory markers, vitamin D, mineral status, glycation markers.

WHAT WE MEASURE

Range of motion, strength, gait and balance, body composition, phase angle, fluid distribution, fascial assessment.

How we choose

Your story guides the technology.

Every test, device, procedure, supplement, or therapy must earn its place within the FLOe Method.

We use a tool when it helps us understand the pattern, measure meaningful change, or support capacity across one or more of the seven systems.

That is why we begin with your history, lived experience, goals, and physiology—then choose the tools that can best clarify and support your path.

The Name

One Method. Three Paths.

One Method. Three Paths.

FLOe is Foundation, Life, and Origin. They are expressions of one operating system, and each asks your body a different question.

Why the small “e”

FLOe names its three connected paths: Foundation, Life, and Origin.

The small e points to electron flow—the redox reactions and mitochondrial transfer of energy taking place within cells. It reminds us that vitality depends on how effectively the body receives, transfers, and uses energy.

The smallest current within the larger flow.

how the method works

Start with what matters. See the whole pattern.

01 Begin With Your Destination Your first conversation begins with what you want your health to make possible—what you hope to regain, protect, or continue doing, and what may be getting in the way.
02 Map Your Current Terrain Depending on your needs, the team may explore biomarkers, physiology, movement, and lived experience through a focused evaluation or comprehensive Vital Flow Assessment.
03 Find the Path That Fits You may begin with Foundation, Life, Origin, or a coordinated combination. The recommendation is shaped by your destination and the pattern we uncover—not by a preset sequence.
04 Adjust Your Bearings Your plan is put into motion, your response is measured, and the map is revisited. As your capacity, needs, and priorities change, the next step changes with you.

Questions

In case you're wondering.

A routine physical screens for illness, evaluates risk, and addresses preventive care. The FLOe Method adds another layer by examining how you function across seven interconnected systems—using your history, lived experience, physiology, movement, and biomarkers to understand capacity and change over time. Both are valuable. They answer different questions and can work together.

FLOe is its own physician-led method. It may share some tools with functional medicine, but its structure is distinct: seven interconnected systems, three coordinated paths, and an evolving plan guided by clinical judgment and your response over time.

Our emphasis is healthspan—the energy, resilience, and capacity to participate fully in your life now and over time. We assess long-term risk, but longevity is not the only destination.
Vitality is the aim. Longevity is a side effect.

You do not need to decide before you begin. We may recommend Foundation, Life, Origin, or a coordinated combination based on your goals and the pattern we uncover.

Some people begin with one focused change; others benefit from support across multiple paths.

Often, yes—when it is clinically appropriate. We will assess whether the treatment fits your needs, explain how it relates to the larger pattern, and be honest about what it is—and is not—likely to address.

FLOe Foundation, FLOe Life, and FLOe Origin are offered in Wexford. FLOe Life is based in McMurray, with virtual care available when appropriate.
