Regenerative Orthobiologic Therapies

From Relief to Recovery

As we age, the body’s ability to repair damaged tissue—like tendons, ligaments, and cartilageslows down. While rehab and injections may help, traditional treatments like NSAIDs, opioids, or cortisone often mask symptoms without solving the root problem. It’s like turning up the radio to ignore a rattling engine—temporary relief, but worsening damage.

Regenerative therapies offer a better path by helping your body heal itself—improving the terrain, addressing the source of pain, and restoring function naturally.

Our Orthobiologic Difference

At Regeneration Pittsburgh, we take a truly comprehensive approach to regenerative medicine. While many clinics focus solely on the injection, we treat the entire person and healing process—before, during, and after the procedure. Our advanced orthobiologic therapies, including PRP, stem cells, and exosomes that are delivered in office with precision and minimal downtime. But real results require more than just biologics. That's why every treatment plan is fully personalized, addressing not only the injury but also the underlying factors that impact healing—nutrition, inflammation, circulation, stress and sleep.

We optimize your body's healing terrain with targeted strategies: anti-inflammatory nutrition to reduce joint irritation; nutraceuticals like Vitamin C, zinc, and magnesium to fuel tissue repair; sleep and stress protocols to activate your parasympathetic nervous system; and structured pre-and post-injection care. When you support the body as whole, biologic therapies can do what they're meant to—stimulate true, lasting regeneration instead of offering temporary relief.

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Ideal for: Arthritis, tendonitis, hair loss, and skin rejuvenation

PRP uses your body’s own platelets to accelerate healing. After drawing and spinning your blood, the concentrated plasma is injected directly into the treatment area to reduce inflammation and promote tissue regeneration. Commonly used in both orthopedic and aesthetic care.

Bone Marrow Aspiration

Ideal for: Joint degeneration, cartilage damage, tendon injuries

Bone marrow is rich in stem cells that support the repair of bone, cartilage, and connective tissues. Collected under local anesthesia, the aspirate is injected into the damaged area under ultrasound guidance to stimulate healing and restore function.

Adipose Aspiration

Ideal for: Chronic soft tissue damage, orthopedic injuries, aesthetic volume loss

Fat tissue is a powerful source of regenerative cells and growth factors. After a quick liposuction procedure, the purified tissue (lipoaspirate) is injected at the site of injury or cosmetic concern to support repair and rejuvenation.

Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (A2M)

Ideal for: Early-stage osteoarthritis, cartilage degeneration, joint pain

A2M is a blood-derived protein that blocks cartilage-damaging enzymes linked to osteoarthritis. By neutralizing these enzymes, A2M helps slow joint degeneration and preserve long-term mobility. The concentrated protein is drawn from your blood and injected under ultrasound guidance into the affected joint for targeted relief and protectionto preserve joint health, reduce pain, and slow the progression of degenerative joint disease.

Amniotic & Umbilical Cord Allograft

Ideal for: Inflammation, soft tissue damage, wound healing

These biologic tissues are rich in anti-inflammatory proteins and regenerative growth factors. When injected under ultrasound guidance, they help reduce swelling, support tissue repair, minimize scarring, and provide antimicrobial protection—making them ideal for orthopedic, wound care, and post-surgical recovery.

Exosomes (Nanoparticle Growth Factors)

Ideal for: Chronic inflammation, cellular repair, and tissue regeneration

Exosomes are tiny vesicles that carry healing signals between cells. These acellular treatments contain potent growth factors and cytokines that reduce inflammation and support tissue recovery. Often used when a powerful regenerative boost is needed.

Prolotherapy

Ideal for: Joint laxity, tendon/ligament strain, chronic pain

This technique uses a mild irritant (like dextrose) to stimulate your body’s healing response and strengthen weakened connective tissue.

Prolozone Therapy

Ideal for: Degenerative joint conditions, unresolved pain

Combines the healing triggers of prolotherapy with the regenerative boost of ozone gas—providing enhanced anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair benefits.

Ozone Therapy

Ideal for: Inflammation, poor circulation, low-grade chronic pain

Ozone (O₃) is injected to increase oxygen delivery and spark a localized healing cascade. Often used in conjunction with other treatments.

Peptide Therapy

Ideal for: Tissue repair, inflammation, hormone balance, longevity

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that signal the body to heal, regenerate, or rebalance. Depending on your needs, they may support joint repair, improve recovery, enhance energy, or regulate hormones. Peptides are often used alongside other regenerative treatments to amplify healing and improve long-term outcomes.

Why We Use Regenerative Therapy

All of our procedures are intended for homologous use with minimal manipulation and are performed on the same day. We strive to be compliant with the latest relevant FDA regulatory guidelines including IND/BLA, RMAT, section 351 and 361 HCT/P guidelines. Any off label uses of medications or products are fully disclosed.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Tailored. Guided. Effective.

Your regenerative treatment begins with a thorough evaluation and a personalized care plan. Prior to injection, the treatment area is prepped and may be “primed” with ozone or prolotherapy to activate tissue response.

The selected regenerative agent—PRP, bone marrow aspirate, adipose, exosomes, etc.—is then injected under ultrasound guidance for precision. Aftercare includes custom supplement protocols, physical therapy guidance, and support to maximize healing.

Common Questions About Regenerative Orthopedic Therapies

It’s a non-surgical approach that uses your body’s own healing agents—like platelets, stem cells, or growth factors—to repair damaged tissue and improve function.

For many patients, yes. Regenerative therapies may delay or eliminate the need for surgery by treating the underlying problem instead of masking symptoms.

Yes. We use FDA-compliant protocols, sterile techniques, and real-time ultrasound guidance to ensure safety and accuracy.

Some conditions respond to one treatment, while others require a series. Your provider will create a plan based on your individual response and goals.

Most regenerative treatments are not covered by insurance, but we’ll provide transparent pricing and financing options if needed. Please see our listed health plans that we accept or contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
